Cox/Getty Images)Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts has announced his transfer destination.After sticking with the Tide for longer than anyone thought he would, Hurts played a pivotal role in getting Alabama to the national title game against Clemson when he led to the team to a comeback in the SEC title game after Tua Tagovailoa’s injury.Now, he’s headed elsewhere.On Wednesday afternoon, Hurts revealed he’s taking his talents to Norman. In a piece written for The Player’s Tribune, Hurts announced he’s transferring to Oklahoma.But now it’s also time for me to start a new chapter in my story. I’ve decided to take my talents to the University of Oklahoma, where I will continue my development as both a quarterback and as a student. I’m very fortunate to have this opportunity, and I’m excited for the journey ahead.After graduating from Alabama, Hurts will be immediately eligible to play for the Sooners in 2019.With Hurts on his way to Oklahoma, the story the college football world needs is a rematch between Oklahoma and Alabama in the College Football Playoff with Jalen Hurts leading the Sooners against his former team.Lincoln Riley turned his past two quarterbacks in Heisman Trophy-winners. We’ll have to wait and see if Hurts can do the same.
